Sensation Café Scoops Healthy Living Award

Sensation Café Scoops Healthy Living Award Sensation Science Centre has received the very welcome news that they have achieved the coveted Healthy Living Award from The Scottish Consumer Council and Scottish Government.

The Healthy Living Award recognises excellent practice in the way food is prepared and also highlights businesses that make it easy for customers to choose a healthier option when eating out, by including clearly displayed healthy options on their menu.

Sensation have made important changes to how they prepare their food by reducing the levels of salt, fats and sugar in their menu. In addition to the way they prepare their food, they now offer every customer a side-salad and reduced fat crisps with their meal and have taken out chocolate in their ‘kids meal deal boxes’, replacing it with a healthier piece of fruit.

Healthy options are easily identified on the menu by the Healthy Eating Award apple symbol. Café Supervisor Sam Wallace who was delighted to receive the framed certificate commented, “As the first science centre in Scotland to have achieved the Healthy Living Award, we are absolutely delighted that our hard work has paid off”.

Sam continued “More importantly however, is what this means for our customers who will now be able to see our healthy options at a glance and make an informed decision about the food they eat. To celebrate this significant achievement, throughout February we are offering our visitors half price fruit smoothies”.

The Infusion Café at Sensation, which Proudly Brews Starbucks Coffee, is open from 10am until 4pm daily, 7 days a week and can be used without paying admission to the centre. Visitors can also purchase take-away food and drink from the café.

The café includes an internet bar, which provides visitors with free internet access. Wireless access is available on request at no extra charge. For more information about Dundee’s Award-Winning Infusion café, call us on 01382 228800.
